I have noticed in IMDB that a lot of morons start a criticism of a cult classic say like Blood Sucking Freaks with the words, "by today's standards, the acting is poor".

This is an interesting phrase since today's standards in acting or any other aspect of film for that matter is attrociously poor. By today, of course I mean after 1990, certainly after the year 2000.

The problem is the corporate media - true, but even more so, the problem is with the average person, or as I like to say, the average moron.

The average moron is such a dense stupid asshole (male or female) that he or she cannot comprehend what drama really is.

Take for instance a character actor who lovingly crafts a strange fascinating persona which is quite far from thee norm. He would be regarded as a hack or a hammy actor mainly because the character is too deviant from the norm to be accepted.

In fact, you have to be a dense expressionless colorless prick to be liked in these times. The character Dexter, (from the unimaginative moronic series Dexter) is a prime example. He is the champion of all the morons in this world who have done nothing interesting in life and are repulsed by real serial killers.

A true killer would be a fascinating character study - and an actor who plays one has the freedom to go even more bizaare in their potrayal to exaggerate the effect. This is a very important concept in cinema - the situation HAS TO BE exaggerated in some way so as to generate a dramatic effect.

Thus, all the characters in a good movie are interesting to watch because while they may (sometimes) resemble the average person, they will always be superior and more interesting than the normal jackass.

But, look at the shit movies they make now.

Each character is a fucking clone of the asshole you see on the job.

Only superficial jerks are being played in the movies these days.

Gone is the hardbroiled attitude of say a Michael Madsen in Choke (a great underrated movie made in 2001).

Gone too are the great actresses who commanded attention with both beauty and presence.

The average actress is told to to look like some idiot woman and display strange agressive behavior towards the evils of society such as racism and nazis.

And mind you I am talking about women like Anelie Jolie -that untalented, uncharaismatic actress. I am not talking about absolute garbage shit actresses like Jenifer Lopez ... As for the male characters - they fare not much better.

They too merely say their lines like an office drone would bark commands.

Whose fault is it?

The greedy assholes who control Hollywood, which in turn influences movies made out of the US? Or should we blame the morons who actually want to watch this crap?

I say the latter.

I have to credit George Romero for his movies (except his new movies which too have taken to this shit trend).

Why credit him?

Because all the way back then he envisioned a world overrun my mindless zombies.
